Yesterday, Manchester protested peacefully in support of George Floyd, a black American killed by police in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and against racism both worldwide and within the UK. Although the council has to heed warning for public demonstrations during this period of COVID-19, Manchester Labour fully supports the aims of the protests and appreciates how protesters remained peaceful.
Racism needs to be wiped out across Manchester, and all Manchester Labour councillors are committed to taking the measures necessary to make this a reality.
