First elected in 2011, Bev is proud to represent Burnage She is involved in various local community groups and organisations, has been a school Governor since 2011 and has represented the views of residents on Southway’s Housing Board. She is passionate about standing up for the people of Burnage and South Levenshulme
She is the Executive Member for Adults, Health and Wellbeing overseeing health and social care in the city. Her main priorities are; protecting the most vulnerable in the face of government cuts, improving the quality of services and improving mental health services. She is also an Equalities Champion having been LGBT Women’s Lead since 2012.
Originally from Belfast, she was the first in her family to stay in school beyond GCSE’s, coming to Manchester for University. Since then she has worked in local government, education and for a trade union.
