First elected in 2011, Bev is proud to represent Burnage She is involved in various local community groups and organisations, has been a school Governor since 2011 and has represented the views of residents on Southway’s Housing Board. She is passionate about standing up for the people of Burnage, South Levenshulme and all of Manchester.

Bev became the Leader of Manchester Labour and the City Council in March 2022. Her main priorities are; tackling the housing crisis and building the homes our city needs, tackling proverty and inequality, getting the basics right to ensure the services we all rely on in our neighbourhoods work for us.

Originally from Belfast, she was the first in her family to stay in school beyond GCSE’s, coming to Manchester for University. Since then she has worked in local government, education and for a trade union.
