Emily Rowles
Councillor for Moss Side
I have represented my home ward of Moss Side since being elected in 2014, and held Deputy Executive roles until 2018, including Lead Member for Homelessness.
I first became active in local politics through my residents’ association, and with a drive to improve the private rented sector in Manchester after my own experiences. I now work extensively on housing and planning issues in Moss Side, along with improving the physical environment for residents. I am taking up the Climate Emergency actions for Moss Side, working with residents and partners to address this at a ward level.
I sit on the boards of the Bridgewater Hall (MCHL) and One Manchester, and also works as a political researcher for a trade union.
